Dior’s beachwear men’s capsule collection: A sustainable collaboration with Parley

What's more exciting than luxury itself? Maybe sustainable luxury. Dior, the French luxury Maison of the LVMH group, in partnership with Parley, an environmental organization, has produced an innovative, eco-conscious men's wear luxury beachwear capsule collection.

So, who is Parley?

Parley for the Oceans is an environmental organization pioneered in addressing major threats to our oceans. Through their AIR Strategy (Avoid, Intercept, Redesign), they focus on intercepting plastic waste, raising awareness about the dangers of ocean plastic pollution, and promoting eco-innovative alternatives. Their collaboration with significant brands helps drive the movement towards sustainable practices across various industries.

The collaboration:

It all began in 2019 with joint research and the development of new materials made from Parley Ocean Plastic, including marine plastic debris and fishing nets recovered from coastlines and islands. These materials have been reworked in Dior's ateliers to create new materials such as seersuckers, silky knits, and other technical fabrics.

They have collaborated three times:

- April 2022: Introduced a modern, casual, and essential men's capsule collection featuring poplin pants, a T-shirt, a polo shirt, a sweater, two highly light jackets that can be folded into a saddle bag, and a pair of sneakers, perfect for the beach.

- May 2023: Launched a collection featuring a reversible jacket, tank top, and a surfboard.

- May 2024: Unveiled a collection including capes, H-town sandals, a bucket hat, a reversible tote bag, and a paddle board.

In Short:

The Dior and Parley Men's Beach Capsule Collection is a beautiful example of collaboration's transformative power. It effortlessly blends high fashion with environmental consciousness, showing that luxury and sustainability can coexist. This partnership is set to inspire positive change within the fashion industry and beyond, marking the arrival of a new era of eco-luxury.
